Dear Blog,

I’ve been a very poor care taker of you. I post once a month, maybe; and, when I do, I post uninteresting stuff like the tale of my trip back to California. I don’t, through you, even tell the story of my trip to Berlin, Belfast, or Wales, or even about my trip ideas to Switzerland, France, Singapore, and Thailand. I didn’t even bother to tell you of my trip back to my homeland (to Florida) to see if I might catch a glimpse of the Space Shuttle piercing the sky on its final mission to the stars.

What I have done is ignore you. I don’t even fix my Blogroll links, a substantial portion of which have gone stale in the years since I’ve updated them. Hell, my About page still says I live in Colorado! If it weren’t for the security holes in prior releases, you’d still be running an ancient version of WordPress.

My online presence seems to circle around Twitter and Facebook nowadays, links to which I don’t bother posting in some vain attempt to prevent someone from very easily producing a complete graph of my Internet existence.

What am I going to do with you?

I have no idea. But I think I can safely now consider you “deprecated” until that idea comes.

Until we meet again,

Sean

We seek to provide a resource for energy conservation and sustainability knowledge, advocacy, and our own personal efforts. A prominent focus will be on the human aspect: what Peter and I are doing, what others are doing, and how the world is changing as a result.

I’m a sell-out and money grubber.

So, here’s the deal. If you run IE, you can’t see this site (nor this message, for that matter) anymore. Myles has figured out a clever workaround to this, but if you run IE with that workaround, I presume you to be smart enough to use Firefox. If you run IE and come here, you get a nice message prompting you to use Firefox. If you change to Firefox, you earn me a dollar.

Also, if you change to Firefox using the link on the sidebar, you also earn me a dollar. So, umm, earn me some dollars.

I have also added a Google AdSense bar to the sidebar in a discreet location. I’ve made $0.10 doing this today in about 2 hours, so I’m probably going to leave it there and use the proceeds to buy beer or donate to various charities. In tight situations, I might use it to buy books or food or something. The AdSense bar might not stay though…

So, moral of the story: convert to Firefox and look and click on those ads. Thanks!

Well, I did promise (at least, I think I promised. I may or may not have actually articulated said promise on the blog though…) that there would be a revision to the venerable sean’s place this summer. I attacked it early and moved the entire operation over to WordPress.

On comments, I really haven’t experimented with them – but gone are the days of TypeKey. You will need to register yourself on my site (which means, roughly, with me) to comment and stuff. It’s innocuous and purely a spam deterrent. I also added some long-missing old stuff, like a blurb about me, a link to the gallery, and a projects page. I also added a mo-blog sidebar. See life through my cell phone. Cool, huh?

Anyway, there are still a few items still in need of polishing, but welcome. Email or comment to report bugs or… comments.
