Update on Qwest

September 17th, 2007 | by Sean |

Qwest still sucks.

I’ve got an order in for a point-to-point wireless internet connection from Mesa Networks. It’s a little more expensive per month (with subnet), but the latency is better (5-15ms to the first hop) and the overall throughput should be higher. Assuming no line-of-sight issues (or difficulties with the HOA), I should have it installed Thursday afternoon.

In other networking news, my (new to me) HP ProCurve 1800-24G showed up. I have the older model (J9028A) with the fan. So far so good.

How sad is it that wireless internet provider can give you lower latency then over-the-copper one? Does that seem odd to anyone else. Mesa should use that in their ad campaigns. :)
