Pre-work Stuff

April 2nd, 2006 | by Sean |

My 2-week rest and relaxation is about to come to a screetching halt tomorrow. None too soon, I expect. I’ve had a good two weeks to settle in (and realize I need more furniture!) and unwind from school. Things have started to set in: I’m done with school, I live in Clovis/Fresno now, I’m on my own. These things are becoming “real” – whereas it was all a daze 2 weeks ago.

In these two weeks, I’ve accomplished the following: moved to Clovis, unpacked, got DSL + satellite TV + phone service, and relaxed my way through 7 seasons of Star Trek Voyager (this part took me the better part of 3 weeks to accomplish). I think I’ve also found a taker for a wayward Sun Blade 100, whose useful life in my network has come to an end. I also revived some old parts: a usb 1.1 hub sitting in a box forever, a firewire hub sitting in the same box, and a 24X firewire CDRW. These are good things. Glory to having a room dedicated to being the “office” – it rules! Just need to get a quieter power supply for my PC… it’s a freaking wind tunnel.

I start work tomorrow at 9am. Wish me luck.
