Last Quarter

January 14th, 2006 | by Sean |

School has started up again and shall be in session until March 17th, 2006. Provided that I pass my classes (and I see no reason why I shouldn’t), I shall have completed my degree requirements as of that date.

The two classes on tap this quarter are: PHYS 206+256 (Experimental Physics – LRC Circuits) and CSC 468 (Database Management System Implementation). I’m having to play a bit of catch-up in 206 because of some issues I had in analyzing circuits in PHYS 133. I’m finding it to be easier now, but only time will tell. 468, on the other hand, is going quite well. I already have a good background in DBMS management and schema definition that the new material this quarter is coming along quite naturally.

I’m also grading a CSC 102 section this quarter for fun and enrichment. This seems like a natural extension of the tutoring I so enjoyed oh so long ago. This time, I can see where students are making mistakes and provide helpful comments in the scoring of the assignment. I’m also learning more tricks when it comes to automation…
Sarah came over and visited for a few days this past week. That was fun :-) I’m over at her house now since I have a 3-day weekend. Luckily (or unluckily as I would have characterized it any other time), I have a bunch of homework to keep me busy when she’s off doing her Fresno State and other musical things. Woot.

Peace out.
