Rest in Peace John Paul II.
April 3rd, 2005 | by Sean |On October 16th, 1978, then Karol Cardinal Wojtyla accepted the humble duty as Bishop of Rome, and Pope to the Roman Catholic Church.
In his remarkable 26-year papacy, Pope John Paul II worked tirelessly towards improving human rights and dignity throughout the globe. He was an inspirational leader who was unafraid to take other leaders to task for their actions. He played a major role in the downfall of communism, spoke out against unbridled capitalism, and began building (and rebuilding) bridges between faiths. He will be sorely missed by Catholics and non-Catholics alike.
While I personally may not have agreed with the John Paul II on everything, I have profound respect for him and his actions. He was truly an inspiration unto this world and his legacy will live on for quite a long time.
Be well John Paul II. May you find peace at home.
