The future of this blog…

February 11th, 2004 | by Sean |

This weblog has been my primary outlet for scathing words, thoughtful digressions, and silly sillies. This particular facet will continue indefinitely, although I will most likely maintain my limited posting schedule.

That said, there will be modifications in the next few months.

I am going to rearchitect my web presence (again) with a much greater focus on content and photos. My photo album will be more current (thanks to Gallery, iPhoto, and my slick digital camera). My friends list will be prominently placed (as opposed to way down at the bottom). Links to various places of interest may even crop up.

I also would like to get more of my codeworks on the site as well. I’ve written some interesting bits of code in my day that I would like to release. Of particular node is chke, a small utility that counts the number of e-mail messages in a Maildir. It has been of particular use to me over the last few months.

Further than that, I would like use a spiffier design. I’m going to transition the page to CSS 2 layouts and see if I can avoid the use of tables for anything besides tabular data (for example, a schedule is tabular by nature; a weblog entry is not).

If I get around to it (no guarantees that I will), I will also rewrite chargetracker and open-source it. It’s been a terrific utility that my roommates and I use, but the code quality is piss poor.

So in the next few months, count on changes. Hell, the domain might even change! :)

Commenting might come back…
