Refreshed

There are two ways of looking at things. Take the proverbial glass for example. The glass, the oft-used but misunderstood container of our water, soda, beer, and most other liquids is a capsule into the mind of a person. You see, a glass can be either half empty or half full, but not both. I choose the latter.

But, lets just start with the negative. I lost 2.5 days of coding and work due to my grandfather’s wedding up in Marin county. I also got updates and sinking spirits as the Kings were unceremoniously eliminated from this year’s playoffs. See Marcus’ blog for a fitting tribute to our Kings. I might post a post-mortem analysis later.

Now, on the bright side! My grandfather got married! Yay! On Saturday afternoon, Gramps wed Margaret (ostensibly, Rees) in Marin county. It was truly a lovely wedding, among the trees at Margaret’s son’s house. Blessed-be for them. With all the commotion of the wedding and requisite travel by all parties, including myself, a suitable amount of refreshing occured. I was guilt-freely exempted from all school work for those 2.5 days and in that time was able to put a lot of it into perspective. I’m now quite a bit less stressed and have a clearer outlook. I think I’m ready to get full force into the school work again. God knows I need to get really crackin’ on the Chess project. (Yes, it’s WIP… at about 20-30% for all that estimate is worth)

All in all the weekend was quite cool.

Cheers.
